The Wilderness and Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing Safari

Summary

On this tour we will take you to the highest peak of Kilimanjaro Mountain later travel to the bush of Tanzania for wildlife game drive.

Itinerary

Day 1

This arrival day at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
This is the day that we will welcome you at the arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport ready to start your schedule safari to Tanzania. at the airport Tanzania tour team will await you and transfer to Moshi hotel. After hot shower and little rest, it will be followed by short explanation about trekking Kilimanjaro in general. Our guide will check all necessities required for climbing Kilimanjaro. It includes climbing gears, clothes and if you have medical checkup prior. Later you will have long sleeping after dinner.

Day 2

Drive to Marangu Gate, trek to first Hut (2700 m).
In the morning at your hotel, breakfast will be served before departure to Marangu main gate for complete park formalities prior climbing. It will take us 3 hours to reach the main gate. Later start our hiking safari on the way to the first camp through the dense rainforest. You will have opportunity to view the fauna and flora found in this dense forest. The trail has the total distance of 8 km which will take us to about 4 hours to reach the next hut. The elevation gain today is about 840 m. In the hut dinner and overnight will be organized by our crew.

Day 3

Mount Kilimanjaro trek to second Hut (3700 m).
Morning breakfast will be served at your hut, and then the safari on the way to the next hut (Horombo hut) will start. The vegetation pattern change as we left behind the dense forest on the way to the open landscape highland nearby Horombo base camp. Today elevation gain is around 1000 m different from the previous hut. In this attitude you might start experience mountain sickness on the way due to the changes of weather pattern. it will take through hiking to about 12 kilometers long to reach the next hut in 6 hours. You will reach to your hut in the evening. Stay in the hut for resting and acclimatization before dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Mount Kilimanjaro Trek to third hut (4700 meters).
Today the trekking path will take us to Alpine desert; it may experience very strong wind since the area is almost bear with little or no vegetation at all. Also there is extremely drought and hence require you to store water taken from last hut. The view of Kibo and Mawenzi peak is highly manifested as get near to the hut. The distance of this track is 9 km with approximate six hours walking distance. you will reach to the hut late, followed by long resting and dinner ready for midnight summit attempt.

Day 5

Trek to the Summit, Descend down to second hut (Horombo Hut).
In midnight you will have hot tea and start ascend on the way to the peak (5895 Meters). The trek will be in a very step trail on the way to Gilman’s point located on the crater rim. At final you will reach Uhuru peak; this is the highest point in Africa. Take some time enjoy while have some funny through taking pictures. Later descend to third hut for resting and lunch. Later proceed to Horombo hut. Here you will have long resting before dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Descend from Horombo Hut to main gate and drive to Arusha.
After breakfast, you will start descending down to the main gate; here you will be given your certificate from park authorities as the sign of summit attempt. It followed by great time for celebration together with your crew, but forgets to tip them. Later guide will take you to Arusha lodge. You will have long hot shower and long relaxation to recover from exhaustion.

Day 7

Safari from Arusha to Tarangire National Park.
In the morning after your breakfast you will be transferred to Tarangire national park for game drive. In the park main gate you will stop for registration, later proceed inside and continue with animals watching. It will take us up to the afternoon were you will stop somewhere for having our lunch. The game drive will take us up to the evening were we will drive back to the lodge for an overnight. The park is famous for having unique and attractive vegetation pattern which harbors varieties of fauna. It includes large herd of elephants and also large population of herbivores. There is also the presence of Tarangire River which acts as the vital role to the survival of animals during dry weather due to its fact of supplying water for thousands of thirst animals.

Day 8

Safari from Tarangire to Serengeti National park.
Today you will have long safari from Tarangire national park to Serengeti Park. The two parks are connected by ecosystem rich in wildlife all your way. So you will have en-route game drive. The journey will have option to visit Olduvai Gorge, here you will witness the history of early human evolution from the research and written done by Dr. Leakey discoveries. You will reach at the main gate of Serengeti were packed lunch will be served for you. Later proceed to the park for evening game drive before it get dark ready for dinner and overnight to the lodge.

Day 9 – 10

Serengeti National Park full day game drive.
Serengeti national park provides a chance to witness amazing scenery rich in wildlife and vegetation patter. So by spend full two days being in the bush of this park, your time of enjoying will be incredible. Depending on the season, you will be able to see unique movements of wildebeest search in food, water and sometimes safe area where they can give birth to their new calves. The exploration of kopjes is also not to forget since large number of cat family are always resting there waiting and have great view to their prey. The game drive will be conducted both morning and evening before transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11

Safari from Serengeti National to Ngorongoro.
In the morning, you will have your delicious breakfast later depart to the jungle for morning game drive. You will the start safari to Ngorongoro conservation area. The two parks are connected by Masai village (Boma). You will stop in one of the Boma were you will experience cultural tour, visit their house also listening from their nice songs were sometimes if you will be interested, you can participate in dancing. After the end of this, you guide will drive on the way to your lodge. Here long resting and hot shower will be provided before overnight.

Day 12

Safari from Ngorongoro conservation area Lake Manyara.
The safari to Ngorongoro caldera will start early morning after breakfast at your lodge. Drive down to the floor for animals viewing. Ngorongoro is often considered to be a blessed and unique area in the world by having varieties of attractions including biodiversity and historical events. It is only area where big five animals may be witness easily. Game drive will continue until afternoon time, you will drive and proceed to Lake Manyara lodge.

Day 13

Safari from Lake Manyara to Arusha Airport.
You will have early morning breakfast later depart to Lake Manyara Park for game drive. You will have tour until afternoon, were you will sign out from park authorities and transfer to Arusha ready for flight to Zanzibar. At instant of reaching there you will meet our team and take you to the hotel for long resting and overnight.

Day 14

Zanzibar island safari vacation.
You will spend these days in Zanzibar coast; it is amazing place where you can have a lot of activities including historical sites visiting, since it was former important trading area in the coastal of Tanganyika many years back. The spice tour at stone town is among of things that you can enjoy. You can have optional tour to dolphin or Jozani forest park. After all days activities you will have a chance to stay on the beach basking there and have sometimes to enjoy the coastal breeze air. You may have activity like scuba diving, snorkeling or swimming. In the evening you will stay in the luxury hotel and t is where you can have an overnight.

Day 15

This is departure day from Zanzibar Island.
This is final day to be in the land of Tanzania. Depending on your flight details you will stay at the beach, later go in the hotel and pack your things. This will make you ready for departure. You will be transferred to the airport for flight back home or to another safari destination.
